Elder and Sister Chamberlin Leave on their Missions!

Elder Ronald J. Chamberlin and Sister Rosalyn V. Chamberlin
Serving in the Nauvoo, Illinois Mission
As Nauvoo Temple Ordinance Workers
April 2011-October 2011

I have posted what my dad Ron has posted on his FaceBook page with it's comments and what I shared on my own FaceBook page with it's comments regarding Dad's post. Dad's post was accompanied by the picture above and is as follows:

My FaceBook post is as follows:

Nana and Papa, we call them, have just arrived this weekend here in Mesa, Arizona to drop off their sweetheart of a dog Princess to my family and for hugs and kisses. We have had the opportunity to spend a few days with them and have LOVED it! Seven of our ten children and their families have been here this weekend. Tonight we will have a special family meeting with everyone here to send Nana and Papa off on their mission with a bit of the spirituality that they have given our family. Testimonies of Jesus Christ have been built in our family because of the witnesses the Dad and Mom have given us over the years. We will never forget. Their love is far-reaching and inclusive. They love their nieces and nephews and their families, their brothers and sisters and their families, their parents and Grandpa Joe, They love the members of the family that have gone on before them for generations creating their foundation and the generations yet to come that make this FAMILY FOREVER.

Thank you, Dad and Mom for your legacy of love and service, of keeping the commandments, of making hard decisions, of constant support to family members, of testimony and of enduring to the end.

Dad and Mom ~ You've done great!

To Uncle Jimmy from Jason

Coldplay - Scientist

"Lauri, this is a song that James found reminds him of Dad and shared it with us not long after he passed. It really hits home and strikes emotions everytime i hear it."

From Jason on FaceBook today.

* I also posted this to the "Dedication to Jimmy" page. I invite all who have memories of him to write them there as well.

Great News!

My little brother, Steven, is home from the hospital where he just successfully completed colorectal cancer surgery! We are all so proud of him and his wife and their great efforts for success. The doctors are so pleased that things have good on  well for for all to see. I encourage you to click on the picture to see Steve's blog regarding his experiences with cancer. It is called "Butt if Not..." He has a great outlook on a potentially scary topic and he is light-hearted as usual. Just wanted you to know. (smiles)

Steve Chamberlin is Having Surgery Friday

Steve's colon cancer surgery is this Friday December 3rd. The surgeons have everything all planned out, but I think Steve could use some hugs and prayers. He is probably even up for a phone call or two.  (Steve, if not ... just let me know and I will change this post.)

TO STEVE - I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! I'm glad you have the best surgeons around. Good Luck!! ... Oh, and don't do anything I wouldn't do. (smiles)

Mom, Dad and Jim's Historys is done

I have completed Moms, Dad's and Jim's histories in Photos, the best I can. We still need pictures of Jim's family. I don't even know if they are aware of Mom's blog. If not it's a shame. The phone numbers I have for the boys are apparently wrong. And, they were the ones who requested photos of Jim. When I have time I'll try to get their numbers from Ceci or Corinne. I may tackle adding the photos that Rosalyn and I put together for our 50th wedding anniversary to my history. Of, course I still have to add a photo history of Dianna, sometime. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Papa

Note to Ron

Dad, I'm still trying to figure out why the tabs looks different on a PC than on a Mac. I think PC's don't have the same font I'm using because I saw our blog on a different computer recently and it looked different somehow. I will look into it more.

I love what you are doing adding the pictures. Thank you.

Lot's of Photos of Jimmy and Dad Have Been Added - More to Come

I need pictures of Jim's family. As you can see, much is missing, but it's a start. At the end of Jim's family page I have added photos of Jimmy from the earliest I have up to 1968. I'll add more when I can. I have also started adding photos of Dad on the History of Jean Chamberlin page. It's a lot of work, but fun.

I Added Stuff

I have added info to some of the pages and rearranged some. My dad has finished putting in pictures for Grandma June's life. He did an excellent job. He has pictures of other families as well. He will put them in if and when he can. At the bottom of each family's page I have made a section for a history of that son or daughter (Ronnie, Dianna, Jimmy). Dad or anybody else, if you have childhood pictures, etc. that is a good place to put them I think. That way those pages can be reference pages let's say with names and photos of family members at the top of the page and history of the son or daughter at the bottom. Any new pictures, like a picture of someone that I take today just for fun as in Kayli standing on her head or something, we can post those on the main Home page.

Dad, what do you think about this idea? Also, I rearranged the page tabs. Do they work right now on your computer?

Grandma June as a Baby

June Irene Porter (6 months old)

For more fun pictures like this see the tab above called This is Your Life Grandma.

Access

I just gave email alerts of updates to this site and author rights to the following: Ron Chamberlin, June DeMott, Corinne Stevens, Jenny Chamberlin, Steve Chamberlin. Let me know who else would like them.

I also just gave access to everyone who wants to write comments on this site. Feel free to communicate with us through your comments if you want to.

Finally, I just increased the size of our picture capacity by buying extra storage space. I have more pictures of the funeral to post and some of my family members too. Add what ever pictures you want either to your family page or to the home page. I was thinking of just putting a picture of each person in our families on the family page so we can learn who is who and which families they go to and then to put updated fun pictures on the Home page or on individual family blog sites that we can post in the margin of the Home page like I did with my kids' family blogs. If you don't have a family blog, that's fine. Just post your fun pictures here so we can all enjoy them.

Please sign your posts so we know who is sharing with us.

If you think of any other ways I can improve this site, please let me know either through a comment on the Home page (on a current post) or by email or phone call.

Let me know how these ideas are working for us.

Lauri

Our Son-in-Law Ben Seare is Moving to AZ

Friday Ben will be joining our household. He is looking for work if any of you know of anything in the Phoenix/Mesa area. His little family (wife, Ashley, and baby daughter, Kirahley) will be joining him in December after Ashley finishes college in Idaho.

If you are in the neighborhood Friday night, Saturday or Sunday and would like to help us welcome him here, we would love a visit. To my local kids, dinner at Mom's Sunday at 6:30. If you are available, please let me know.

Lauri

Jobs for June and Corinne

Do you have time and resources to get the word out by email to the family that our site is Open for Business? June to your people and Corinne to yours? I'll tell my side of the family. And June, can you ask Uncle Matt to show the site to Grandpa Joe?

Thanks, Lauri

Looking for Pictures

I would like a good picture of Grandma and Grandpa together to post here. Please let me know if you have one.

Thanksgiving at Lauri's

I will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year at my house at 1:00. Many of my children will be here. If any of you are in town, or want to come to town, let me know and I will set you a place at the table.

If any of you are getting together and want to post it, let me know in the comments sections of this post or any other post or email me.

Lauri

A Job for Ron (Dad)

Can you think of a way to link us to the geneology you have been working on? You have super great pictures and stories too. Let me know.

Thanks, Lauri

Note to All

OK. Here's pictures I promised you. It's not FaceBook, but it's what I can do. If you would like to add things like Announcements of Get-Togethers or Upcoming Birthdays, etc. Those can be posted on the Home page here for quick attention. If you would like to add proper name info and pictures to the Kid pages that would be great too. This site is ours to do what we want to with it.

June, it might be a place to put the thoughts that people wrote in Grammy's book. ???

Or, as we all go along and we remember something about Grammy we could write it in a new post on the Home page for everyone to see.

We can link our own family Blog sites or FaceBook or Twitter or Websites here. Anything is possible.

This site was created through conversations at Aunt Dianna's house when we got together for Grammy's Funeral. We decided that we wanted a way to stay in touch with each other better. We want our kids to know each other the way we did. We love and care about each other. We don't want that part to die with Grammy. It will take effort from everyone, but it could be fun! Our parents did great helping us all grow up. Cousins, it's our turn to keep the family together and make new memories to pass down through the generations.

If you want the password to get in here to work, just email me: nanalauri1@gmail.com

For those of you who were not able to attend Grandma's funeral. You were very much missed! We just want you to know. (smiles)

Love you all, Lauri

PS: If anyone wants to get us onto FaceBook, cool. And oh yeah, I don't have everyone's emails so if you know about this site, pass the info on to the brothers, sisters, and kids. Hey, lets post email addresses here. Is that reasonable? I don't know. Someone advise me.

PSS: You great-grandchildren out there, we are talking to you to. It is important to keep our family ties strong. Use this site to get to know each other. We all need the strong support this family is good at!

Obituary by Ronald J. Chamberlin

JUNE IRENE VITELLARO born June Irene Porter February 5, 1919 in Pueblo, Colorado, died October 19, 2010 at the age of 91 in Las Vegas, Nevada where she had lived for the past 26 years.  June, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, has returned to the Lord who gave her life.  She joins her son Jimmy, who preceded her in death in 2002 at the age of 59, her mother, Genevieve, who died in 1962, her daughter’s son, Johnny, who died, in infancy, in 1961 and so many other friends and family.  June, together with her first husband, Jean Chamberlin, raised three children in California, Ronald Chamberlin of Phelan, California, Dianna Pacillo, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jimmy Chamberlin, now deceased.  Her marriage to Jean ended in divorce after 20 years.  June, an only daughter, was practically inseparable from her mother.  They were like two peas in a pod.  June and her daughter, Dianna, have always been the same.  She is survived, today, by her devoted husband of 51 years, Joseph Anthony Vitellaro, her son, Ronald, her daughter, Dianna, 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.  Although she struggled with Alzheimer’s for the last few years, she led a full and wonderful life.  June loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  She will be laid to rest at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery following a short service held there at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 28, 2010
